How to Connect Claude to Threads with Threadify (MCP Guide)
Connect Claude to your Threads account with Threadify's MCP server. One-click OAuth, then draft in your voice, schedule, publish, and reply to Threads β all from your Claude chat.
I built Threadify because I was tired of the copy-paste shuffle: think in one app, write in another, log into Threads to post, then bounce to a spreadsheet to find out whether any of it landed. If you already live inside Claude, that shuffle is even more frustrating β you've got a brilliant writing partner that can't actually touch your Threads account.
That's exactly what the Threadify connector fixes. With one secure connection, Claude can draft posts in your voice, schedule them, publish them, reply to comments, and read your real analytics β without you ever leaving the chat.
This guide walks through connecting Claude to Threads step by step (it takes about two minutes), shows what Claude can actually do once it's wired up, and explains how the free and paid tiers work.
What you can do once Claude is connected to Threads
- Write posts and threads in your own voice β drafted from your Threadify "Brain" (your past posts, preferences, and best-performing patterns), or written by Claude itself.
- Schedule and publish to Threads β including auto-plug follow-ups and auto-reposts.
- Run your content calendar β list, reschedule, edit, duplicate, or cancel scheduled posts.
- Draft and send replies to comments, or turn on auto-reply.
- Read your analytics β top posts, follower growth, the best time to post, and per-post engagement.
- Generate and edit images for your posts.
All of it in plain language. You ask; Claude does the work through Threadify.
Before you start
You'll need three things:
- A Threadify account. Create one free if you haven't already.
- A connected Threads account inside Threadify. The connector has nowhere to post without it β so connect Threads first (Threadify will prompt you on signup).
- Claude β either a Claude Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise plan (for the connector UI on claude.ai and Claude Desktop) or Claude Code (the CLI).
How the connection works (the 30-second version)
Threadify runs a remote MCP server. MCP β the Model Context Protocol β is the open standard Anthropic helped create for letting AI assistants securely use external tools. Claude connects to Threadify's MCP endpoint over the public internet, you approve access with one click via OAuth, and from then on Claude can call Threadify's tools on your behalf.
You never paste a password or an API key into Claude. The connection uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, Threadify registers itself automatically (Dynamic Client Registration), and you can revoke access anytime from Threadify Settings.
The endpoint, if you ever need it, is:

Connect Claude on claude.ai or Claude Desktop
- Connect your Threads account in Threadify first (Settings β connect Threads). Skip this and the connector will tell you to come back and do it.
- In Claude, open Settings β Connectors and click + Add custom connector. (On Team and Enterprise plans, an organization Owner adds it under Organization settings β Connectors.)
- Name it Threadify and paste the server URL:
You can skip "Advanced settings" β there's no OAuth Client ID or Secret to enter, because Threadify registers itself automatically.https://www.threadify.app/api/mcp/threadify - Click Add, then Connect. A Threadify approval window opens β sign in, approve, and you're done. Claude now lists Threadify as connected.
Connect Claude Code (the CLI)
One command:
claude mcp add --transport http threadify https://www.threadify.app/api/mcp/threadify
Then start Claude Code and run:
/mcp
/mcp shows the server's status and walks you through the OAuth sign-in. Because Threadify supports Dynamic Client Registration, Claude Code handles the entire OAuth handshake for you β there's no client ID or secret to manage. Approve in the browser window, come back, and Threadify's tools are live.
Your first commands
Talk to Claude in plain language:
- "What can you do with my Threads account?"
- "Draft a short post about [your topic] in my voice." β Claude will ask whether to use your Threadify Brain or write it itself, and whether you want a single post or a thread.
- "Schedule that for tomorrow at 9am."
- "Show me my best-performing posts this month."
- "Draft replies to my latest comments and let me review them."
Tip: Threadify is conversational by design. It reads your timezone, your connected account, and your saved preferences first, so you rarely have to repeat yourself. If something important is ambiguous β like the format or the time β it asks one quick question instead of guessing.
What Claude can do once it's connected
Under the hood, Threadify exposes a focused set of tools, grouped by job:
When you ask Claude toβ¦ β¦it uses Threadify tools like Write a post or threadgenerate_content (your Brain) β or Claude drafts it itself
Manage drafts
list_drafts, get_draft, edit_draft, duplicate_draft, delete_draft
Add images
generate_image, edit_image, upload_media
Schedule & publish
validate_post, schedule_post, publish_now (with auto-plug & auto-repost)
Run your calendar
list_scheduled_posts, reschedule_post, edit_scheduled_post, cancel_schedule, duplicate_schedule
Stay organized
projects & chats: list_projects, create_project, move_chat_to_project, rename_chat
Handle replies
generate_replies, send_reply, enable_auto_reply
Read analytics
read_post_performance, greatest_hits, get_growth_trajectory, best_time_to_post, get_threads_profile
Use your memory/Brain
query_brain, remember, correct_memory
You don't have to memorize any of these β you just describe what you want.
Free vs paid: what's included
Threadify works on a free plan and unlocks more with a paid plan (or trial):
- Free β bring your own AI. Claude drafts the post itself, and Threadify schedules, publishes, and manages it on Threads. Reading your drafts, calendar, projects, and analytics is included. Scheduling and publishing aren't metered.
- Paid or trial β Threadify Brain + AI features. Generating posts in your voice from your Brain, AI-drafted replies, AI image generation and editing, deep Brain memory queries, and power features like duplicating a whole day's calendar. On a free plan these return a clear "upgrade" message rather than failing silently.
In short: you can connect, schedule, and publish for free with Claude doing the writing β and upgrade when you want Threadify's Brain and AI features doing the heavy lifting.
Is it safe?
Yes β security was a first-class requirement, not an afterthought:
- OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. Claude is authorized through a standard, revocable OAuth flow. It never sees your Threads password or your Threadify login.
- You're in control of public actions. By default Threadify runs in "reviewed" mode β it confirms the exact text (and the resolved time, for scheduling) before anything goes public. You can switch to autonomous mode if you want it to act without asking.
- Revoke anytime. Open Threadify β Settings β Agent Connections and revoke or delete the connection. Access stops immediately.
Troubleshooting
- "Connect a Threads account first." You're connected to Threadify, but no Threads account is linked yet. Link one in Threadify Settings, then retry.
- The connector won't authenticate. Make sure you're signed into Threadify in the same browser, then re-open the connector and click Connect again. In Claude Code, re-run
/mcp. - "This needs a paid plan" (a 402 message). You asked for a Brain or AI feature (in-voice generation, AI replies, image generation) on a free plan. Either let Claude draft it itself, or upgrade/start a trial.
- Tools don't appear. In Claude Code, run
/mcpto confirm Threadify is connected and listed. On claude.ai, check that the connector toggle is on for the conversation.
Final thought
The whole point of Threadify is to scale the work, not the worry. Connecting Claude turns your favorite AI into a full Threads operator β one that knows your voice, your calendar, and your numbers. Connect it once, then just talk.
