The Android app now needs Android 7.0 or newer
You can keep receiving Android app updates on Android 7.0 and above, with Play's tamper protection staying on.
What changed
- The Android app installs and updates on Android 7.0 and newer
- Phones on Android 6.0 keep the version they already have and stop receiving updates
- Google Play's automatic tamper protection stays switched on for everyone else
How to use it
If your phone runs Android 7.0 or newer, nothing changes: open the Play Store and update as normal. If you are on Android 6.0, the app you already installed keeps working, but new versions will not install. The change was required to keep Google Play's automatic protection switched on, which checks that the app you downloaded has not been tampered with. On an older phone you can still use Threadify in your mobile browser with the same account, so your drafts, calendar and analytics are all there.
Who gets it
Everyone using the Android app, on every plan.
